Scarlet Pimpernel at Hale Centre Theatre

Last year Morgan saw that Hale Theatre was producing and showing The Scarlet Pimpernel!  So we got tickets, except that Morgan is on a mission and didn't get to go see it :(
Troy went with me and Mike and Stacie, poor Mike had to imagine what he could hit if he were bow hunting to get through all of the songs and he survived a musical production.  We also ran into Grant and Kirsten there, so fun to see them.  Grant and I liked it, but were a little disappointed that they changed a couple of our favorite songs and took out some of our favorite Sir Percy lines.  For a small stage they did a great job.  Erin Royal Carlson, who was in Madrigals with Kat and from whom Morgan took some voice lessons from, was Margarete and did a wonderful job.  Her voice totally made us think of Jane Eyre.  I would love to hear her sing songs from that musical!  Wish it would make a come back on Broadway loved seeing it on a full stage.  Plus always looking for a reason to go to NYC :)

Ringing in 2017

Back to Texas and getting back on my bike.  Learning to ride the streets with Troy as my guide :)  We also have a grand baby coming this month.  Victor and MJ are due to have a little girl at the end of the month.

Other pictures include a conference Troy attended, waffles and ice cream, me crocheting baby blankets and Jennifer Irish and I going to The Big Barn antiques market where I bought the cabinet under the TV (which Troy thinks looks like it came out of a grandmas basement, well give it a month and it will be in a grandmas house!)  Morgan played one of the violas for the school HS production of Les Miserable.  It was a lot of hard work, took a lot of practicing and sight reading, but a wonderful experience.  Music plays for the entire piece and so it's about 2 1/2 hours of continuous playing.  It was wonderful to watch and listen too.

May brings musicals - Pirates of Penzance

Last weekend Morgan was in the musical Pirates of Penzance.  These are pictures form Thursday and Friday.  They did a wonderful job.  Loved my Edith!
