St. George over presidents weekend

It's been a busy week this past week. I gave grant a little bit of a crazy haircut before he went to run up in Idaho at the Simplot games.  Ended up trimming Ethan too.  Watched Tanya play some basketball.  Thursday had my final xrays of my wrist  & have to go ahead to do Pilates & ride a road bike. (i got talked into riding in Goldie locks in May, so I've got to find a bike and learn to ride pretty  quick!  Morgan and I saw Aida again. Troy & I went out to outback stake house at 4:30 for a Valentine's dinner. He also brought me chocolate covered strawberries. Very good. Flowers for the girls. We then went to the temple to do some sealings. Out was very nice and the man doing the sealings recognized toy as George kellers son. He is a friend of the family and was one of Georges dental professors in dental school. It was nice to visit with him. We also did the sealings that we found doing family history four family home evening & some for my mom, names clear back from new Jersey  days.

So Saturday I packed up the suburban and Ethan & Ana and we headed down to St. George to join Tricia & her kids for presidents weekend. Heard it was sunny & in the 70's. We got down there to overcast sky's & breezy cool air. Disappointed to say the least, but at 7 am the next morning the sun was lighting up my bedroom....  Sunday was a beautiful day. The kids lived at the park playing tag, riding scooters & bikes and catching lizards. Repeat on Monday until I made them come in so we could pick up and head home. Now back to reality. Came  home to grant having the guys over, Morgan heading out the door to see Aida once again (closing night), Tanya running Hailey home so she could go out on a date with Will (finally, instead of hanging out after school every day), & Ana to do homework she didn't bring home so she wouldn't have to do out (as usual this year- feels like we are regressing instead off processing in this area).

Weekend going ons

Yesterday we had lots of things going on after school. Extra tumbling meet & viola lesson. Victor & I we supposed to go to take the learners permit test but he did not show up after school, so that actually saved me a bit off running around. Grant had track & field & Tanya had an away game - didn't make it to either. High jump in Kearns & bball in Syracuse, opposite ends of the valley. But the best part of the evening was our dear friend Odie getting baptized. His bishop & stake president shared wonderful thoughts and testimonies. There was such a sweet spirit there and Odie just glowed. It was also nice to see Claudia & Angela and their families. Odie is such a great person, I truely hope he finds great joy through this choice.

So onto Saturday...
I got up at 6:30 to take Ana to tumbling. These competitions have been great for her, she definitely has been trying harder and doing better these past two months then the whole year that she has taken tumbling. Three hours later and a sixth place medal & we we home to start our day. Grant had a track met at the Olympic oval so we headed out. First time he was running the 200 meter. It started a little later than planned, but it was nice to sit and chat with him for a while before he ran. We then ran home & troy took boys for hamburgers & I went to Morgan's viola concert at the bountiful library. I love listening to her play. It's so calming and beautiful. We then picked up her friends to go hiking in the rain & mud with her, crazy. Tricia brought her kids (& pizza) by  to do she & my dad could go to president porters daughters wedding in slc. Out was great, all the kids went down to play in the basement. Lovely times, busy going ons, but lots of fun kind of day.

Tumbling comp

Ana had her second tumbling competition this morning. They are fun to watch but killer to wake up at 6:30 on a Saturday. And took 6th place today. Needs to practice sticking her landing. But her legs are much straighter, her overall form has improved so much in just a month.

Night of settlers

Since we are such "big" superbowl fans... Yes I'm just kidding. Troy turned it on to see the Broncos play for a bit. Ouch.

So Ethan talked a couple of us into playing settlers.  We ended up playing three games :). Grant creamed us twice, but threw a little tantrum when I was winning. Yes, I got one win in. Morgan and Ethan don't play for speed and points but for building. One day they'll sneak up and cream grant. :b

Earlier today Morgan and grant wanted to create a cookie with nutella in it. They were pretty good, a little sweet, but that's an easy fix. They we gone within the hour! Yummy.

Last night Morgan and her friend Elizabeth and myself went to wx's production of Aida. The lead was amazing. She has a beautiful voice. A kid we know from lpa days is ramadas but it was his off night so we may have to go back and see it when he's the lead.

Snow shoeing

So, I haven't exercised much since I broke my wrist. Now that I have my cast off I've been trying to figure out what to do with myself. It's been so cold & the inversions been so bad (orange days you aren't supposed to go out if you don't have to) so walking out side it's out. I have 4 more weeks before I can lift or go back to Pilates class. So when Troy said he and Morgan we going snow shoeing I thought it would be fun to tag along. Other than Morgan being a little grumpy it was so beautiful and nice. We did have to hike in a mile to get to the trail & I was a bit winded at that point (ha ha ha).  But then it was wonderful new snow and the trees and bushes all had a fresh layer of snow on them so it was like being in a winter wonderland.
Morgs cheered up a as we  diverged off of the beaten path and wandered through the trees, she's out little explorer at heart. She says she wants to be an orchestra teacher, but I'm sure we'll find her on a dig in Peru one of these days.
Tanya took two of her friends & Ana ice skating while we were gone and one of her friends hit her head pretty hard, so they took her home. Hope she's ok.
Exciting first day of February!  Other than we need the moisture, here's hoping that the ground hog doesn't see his shadow tomorrow.
