Google Translate Saves Souls

Fun Fact of the week: I asked Sister Meto for an interesting fact about Fiji and she said "one interesting fact about Fiji is they're crazy". I can vouch for that...

Bula! (hi in Fijian :))

This week has been spectacular! We have been quite busy, but that's been every week since going into the OTC.

We are teaching a woman named Seema, and what's interesting about that is she's from India! In Fiji they speak quite a bit of Hindi, so my cute companion knows how to understand Hindi. But she can't quite speak it, so we use google translate on our phones to communicate with her. That's been interesting and occasionally problematic, but overall we've been able to teach some solid lessons with her! She wants to be baptized which is way cool! She has a lot of health problems, so she hasn't been able to come to church yet, but we are hoping soon :)

The OTC has been crazy recently! There was a new update for the Bible and Book of Mormon requests, so now we are asked to have local missionaries deliver them to people instead of mailing them which is way cool! For all my friends serving stateside, If you get a call from me I promise I'm not stalking you ;) (Even though I completely have the power and authority to do that... watch out) I've even been sending referrals to people in Argentina, (El hogar de mi corazon) Y mexico. Heavenly Father was really blessing me when he gave me the opportunity to use my Spanish and continue to practice it. I never want to leave the OTC and plan on dying here :) I just need to let president Cummings know...

Not too much else has happened in the land under the land down under (can't believe I haven't used that yet..). We now have Elders serving in Nawton which is cool! Neither of us have cars (well we share the car but the other sisters use it more so we are mostly walking), so we actually run into them quite often. It's pretty funny! The meal roster to feed the missionaries has become a bit competitive though... I'll update yous on that in a later week.

Hope yous all are having an amazing week! Keep up the good work and stay wild! But not too wild...
Much love,
Sister Hermana Keller

1. Since it's almost winter, I will no longer have my super cool watch tan line in a few months most likely :( sending a picture to commemorate
2. When your companion says shes going to do language study then you catch her taking selfies...
3. Our new tiny district!!
4-5. Sister Meto showing me the islander way by helping me figure out how to wear a lava lava. Next i just need to learn how to hula...
6-7. "You're too tall!" Sister Meto tells me since I'm one of the tallest sisters and shes one of the shortest...

Trip to Washington DC with Troy

Troy and I were invited to be guests in DC of Congressman Chris Stewart along with 15 other people.  Troy planned some meetings out there earlier in the week and then I flew out on Thursday for the activities.  We had a wonderful time and we stayed in a beautiful hotel on the wharf.  I included the itinerary because it's better than my memory. Due to rain we weren't able to climb the 350 stairs to the top of the dome, but we instead met in the room where they meet to discuss intelligence stuff, Troy help me with that.  See itinerary is better.

The two highlights for me were touring the library of congress and having a rare books tour.  That was very fascinating and we were able to see early Books of Mormon and other Church History books and documents.  We were also able to see the original pamphlet/book that Galileo wrote on his discoveries about the moon.  Amazing.

Also meeting with Director Larry Kudrow in the white house debriefing rooms.  Loved hearing his view on things and fun to meet staff and people working in that part of the white house and their experiences working there.

Dinner Friday night was amazing and yummy.  Over the top definately.  Oh, and I was impressed that everyone we spoke with spoke very highly of Melanie Trump the First Lady.  There are always comedy jokes and rude things said about her on TV and in the news.  I've been very impressed by her when we see her in a positive light.  She speaks 6 languages, is well dressed and well traveled and is always kind to people even when they aren't to her.  It was nice to hear that she is really well liked.  That has to be difficult when your husband, the President, doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut and be kind.  I'm a fan of the tax cuts Trump has made, but not of him as an individual.  I didn't even like him when we lived in NYC.  Still a wonderful trip.
