Interesting fact of the week:
This area of New Zealand does not use shopping bags. Instead, to be more ecofriendly, you put all of your groceries in cardboard boxes and carry it to your car. neat

Kia Ora!
This week has been full of ups and downs! Saturday night I got food poisoning so yesterday and today i've been kinda chilling and hoping I get less sick.
One of the highlights was exchanges! (as you could tell from my cleverly titled email) For the first day I was companions with Sister Vodo, who is from Fiji! She is absolutely crack up and loves to talk about everything! The next day I was companions with Sister Morgan (oh the irony) and she is the absolute best! (must be something to do with the name Morgan... haha jokes) She is from Utah and played soccer for Westminster University. So I totally didn't think we'd get along but honestly our personalities clicked super well and we chatted for hours as we walked! We got a lot of Area book work done because we had another set of missionaries so that was a bonus!
The second highlight was Ruths baptism! The beforehand was super stressful because we didn't really know what we were doing haha. The font heater wasn't working so we tried boiling water and throwing it in (which didn't work because physics... But we tried), and then we cleaned the whole chapel (it's tiny because we're just a branch) and then she was baptized! She bore her testimony afterwards and it was so sweet. Also kiwis are awesome because we didn't even have to ask and everyone brought food for after the baptism. Such an awesome branch!
We found out that Pearl was baptized when she was younger, and when we told her she was devastated. She really wanted to be baptized with a full understanding of the gospel. But we are so happy that she has so much love and desire to learn about what we have to teach her! She is amazing and a perfect addition to the Opotiki branch.

One thing I've been doing is whenever I find a scripture that is comforting I write it down in the back of my PMG, and I thought I'd start sharing them in my weekly email. This weeks is Alma 38:5
I don't have pictures this week because I didn't take any on my camera and I don't know how to upload pictures from my phone to the computer... so hopefully you'll get some next week!
Much love towards you all!!
