daddy daughter

Last Thursday Morgan had a daddy daughter pumpkin carving date for Activity Days. They won most creative with their alien pumpkin. I guess they had a spoon sticking out of it's mouth that added to the creativity. It was fun for them to get an hour together.
Tuesday after all the rain there were a couple rainbows in the sky. The kids took my camera out trying to capture them, but none of the pictures worked. They did get this picture which I thought was pretty cool.

Tomato Soup

So we had a lot of tomatoes in the garden this year, so I decided to make tomato soup. Thanks to Jennifer's mother-in-law and her 10 quart tomato soup recipe! By the time I finished chopping everything up the 12 quart pot was almost completely full! So cook, grind and cook again and I ended up with almost 8 quarts of soup. So 6 quarts are in the freezer for future dinners and tonight we are having.... tomato soup.

singing for school fundraiser

Every year the kids charter school does a humanitarian type fundraiser. The first two years went to building a sister school in Africa. This year it is a group that takes instruments to orphanages and teaches children how to sing and play simple instruments. They asked the kids to perform for their families to earn the money to donate. So for family home evening last night the kids all performed different songs they have learned in school or in lessons. I now have to stop at the bank and get lots of dollars for them to take they did so many songs.

Conference weekend

Last Saturday Troy and I were able to listen to General Conference and Sunday we let the kids do crossword puzzles and matching games while Sunday morning session was on, then they were turned loose for the rest of the day. They also had to help tie a quilt. Victor was a wiz on the quilt and did a great job, it was a tad to stressful for Tanya. Grant and Morgan did their share and Ana and Ethan raced to finish it up. I couldn't believe how much of the quilt those little fingers were able to do. I was constantly threading needles trying to keep up with those two and didn't hear much of the morning session, but it was worth it to see Ana focus on anything for longer than 10 minutes and not bite, hit or pinch anyone in that time. I may have to keep a quilt on all of the time.

Half Time

Here are our little half time dancers. Morgan and Ana got to practice with the Chantelles this past week and then perform at half time at the WX football game last night. It was very chilly, but they were all smiles and did a great job!

Here are Ethan, Tanya and Victor supporting their sisters in the cold (against their will) at the game last night.

Not a great video clip because I was trying to climb the bleachers to get a better view of the girls. Ana is in her pink and brown coat and Morgan is to her right.

Saturday

Troy took the girls bike riding up Provo Canyon on Saturday.

Carlin took the boys to Lagoon to meet up with some friends and go through the Haunted Houses. The clown one was pretty cool, you go through with 3D glasses. The other two inside are kind of gory and the one the people bump into you - I really don't care for that. We rode all the favorite rides so may be a good last trip to Lagoon.
