I feel like its time to do another email full of fun facts, so here we are :)
Fun fact! This is the third time I've used a song as my email caption! (I know, aren't I clever...)
Fun fact! In NZ, it gets dark around 6:30, which means we need to be in our flat by 6:30 unless we have the car. Which is more or less frustrating because most people get home around 6, but it's too sketchy for two sister missionaries to be walking in the dark by themselves. That usually just means we put our studies at the end of the day instead of the beginning :)
Fun fact! I have a new companion!! Her name is Sister Meto, and she is the most adorable Fijian ever! Shes super smiley and happy and quite sassy, so we're pretty much the same people just with very different heights and skin colour Haha.
Fun fact! Sister Meto speaks FOUR languages, and one has already come in handy! She is very talented I love her :)
Fun fact! I have never had a Palangi (white) companion before. I'm starting to think I never will...
Fun story: Sister Keller at times can be quite forgetful. This one particular time (last night) she accidentally locked the key to her flat inside the flat! So when they got back from a late shift (ending at 9pm... remember how I said it gets dark after 6:30?) Sister keller and Meto tried to find an open window so they didnt have to call the District Leader. There was not an open window, so they tried to break into their own flat, but unfortunately that didnt work so they had to call their District Leader anyways. Since the Zone Leaders live so far away, the Assistants to President had to drive down to unlock their flat. Whilst they were waiting, two cop cars pull up and shine flash lights on them. They were sitting in the car with the other sisters, when the cops came up to the car and ask who lives in the flat. Turns out that our neighbors called the cops because they saw someone "trying to break into our flat". So the confused but very nice cops took down the embarrassed Sisters information, and they waited for the APs to come. The worst part of all of this is it was right when our new District Leader was calling us to ask about our week, so halfway through call ins we had to explain that there were cops interrogating us and we would have to call him back. What a great first impression to make on the new DL... Now I tell you this story not so that you can make fun of me, (which I'm sure many will nonetheless) but so you know that if you ever find yourself locked out of your flat, dont try to break in or the cops might get called :)
Spiritual fact! This week our Mission President suggested that to prepare for Easter, we study the last week of Jesus life. I decided to read the chapters in Jesus The Christ that are about Christs last week on earth. I really loved a quote in chapter 33 about Gethsemane: "It was not physical pain, nor mental anguish alone, that caused Him to suffer such torture as to produce an extrusion of blood from every pore; but a spiritual agony of soul such as only God was capable of experiencing." I know that Christ was truly the Son of God, and that he came down to earth to atone for us so that we could be forgiven of our sins. Each tear fallen and drop of blood shed was only through immense amount of mental, physical, and spiritual pain, so that we can receive Salvation. I love Christ. He is my Redeemer and has changed my life indefinitely.
I hope this email was spiritual enough Haha. All is well over here in Kiwiland, keep up the good work everywhere else in the world!
Much love,
Sister Keller
