It's The End Of The World As We Know It....

Fun fact of the week: Black sand at the beach in Taranaki has magnetic particles so it sticks to other magnets :) (pictured below)

Heyyyyya!

I had this super awesome weekly email planned about recent experiences in the Online Teaching Centre here in Hamilton New Zealand, but then I watched conference and that all went out the door. So tune in next week for a Day in the Life of an OTC sister...

Oh but one exciting thing about the OTC that I can't believe I've forgotten to mention, is I am officially a Spanish speaking Hermana! Its super stressful at times because, let's face it, I haven't been exposed to any Spanish for what, 6 months? So mi Español es todavía horrible, pero Por Dios, todo es posible(: lots of milagros in the OTC!

General conference! Wow. Wow wow. We definitely got a huge growling from the quorum of the 12 this past week! I think it's great that the church leaders know our weaknesses, and desire for us to change so we can serve others and bring them unto Christ. I feel so much love from President Nelson, my heart was softened with every word he spoke. I was very humbled by all of the talks. Also terrified that every single one of them mentioned the Second coming in some way, shape, or form...

I think my favourite talk was Gerrit W. Gongs. I don't know if I've said anything before, but since coming to New Zealand, my favourite animal has been a sheep. They are so adorable and sweet, but also the symbolism behind them makes me ponder our journeys here on earth. I love that we were compared to being sheep, and that the way to minister is with love. I honestly think that's what the theme of this conference was, Love. We need unconditional love, AKA charity or the pure love of Christ, in order to help others and to help ourselves receive exaltation.

I could go on for days with the amount of knowledge and spiritual insight I have gained from this past general conference, but as I am sure you have heard enough of General Conference from every missionary weekly, I will leave with my testimony. This church is true. As members, we never have time to sit back and enjoy the show. We must constantly be helping others find the joy we ourselves have felt, and I know that by doing this we will be blessed in this life and in the life to come.

Much love!!

Hermana Keller
